Gary Blumgart
Head of Data and Digital
Gary joined Theta in August 2008 to lead Theta BI and is now Head of Theta Data and Digital. He has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, the last 15 of which have been dedicated to data and analytics. He has deep experience related to formulating data and AI Strategies and also leads Theta’s Centre of Excellence for Generative AI.
Gary has significant experience in data governance, having worked with organisations to assist them in creating pragmatic and effective data governance groups and frameworks, creating programs of work to implement data governance and providing recommendations for setting up data teams and practices.
Gary has broad experience across all mainstream modern data platform architectures and technologies, data visualisation and analytics technologies. He keeps up to date with emerging trends, and is a regular keynote speaker at local ICT seminars. He also has a solid background in programme and project management, and has experience across many industry sectors including healthcare, utilities, insurance, telecommunications, government, finance, and manufacturing.
