Liz Knight leads Theta Cyber Security into 2023
Liz Knight has been appointed as Head of Cyber Security at Theta. Liz was previously Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and VP of Professional Services at Mobile Mentor.
“A day after Liz joined, she was straight into a Board and Management strategy day, followed by a management meeting the next day. Talk about getting thrown in the deep end!”
Theta CEO Rob Lee says.
“Liz has a strong background, including a broad scope of experience across industries, including technology, health, and telecommunications. After 6 years at Mobile Mentor, it’s great news that our Cyber Security practice can continue to provide top tier support for our growing customer base in ANZ.”
There are constantly new things to learn and improve in a rapidly evolving cyber security environment. Liz follows a practical, people-centric approach to security - inspiring others to take on new best practices.
"We, as humans, are our weakest link when it comes to security but can also be our strongest defence. The more we talk about our experiences of being phished and compromised and the more we learn from these shared experiences, the more resilient and intelligent we can be when dealing with the ever-changing threat landscape."
After a major career stint in New York, working for renowned DaaS solutions provider Citrix, Liz moved back to New Zealand to start a new role as Head of Professional Services and CISO for Mobile Mentor.
"As Head of Professional Services and CISO, I built out a fantastic team of engineers across New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Last year we won 'Microsoft Endpoint Global Partner of the Year, for the work we did enabling customers to secure their endpoints with Microsoft Intune."
Liz officially joined the team on 7 November 2022.
“It’s been great meeting the Theta team in my first few days here. Theta is an impressive company, and it’s been interesting learning the breadth of different solutions and services we offer. I’m really looking forward to working with everyone here to keep our customers and our systems safe and secure.”
