Event wrap up: MicroStrategy user group conference 2019

One of Auckland’s most iconic buildings, The ClockTower at the University of Auckland, was the impressive venue for this year’s MicroStrategy NZ User Group Conference.

This is the fourth year that Theta has assisted with the delivery of this conference, and we were pleased to see a good mix of new and returning attendees enjoying talks from those who are leading the way with their knowledge, capabilities and solutions.

What was on the agenda?

Kicking off the customer use case examples, Jeremy Dean shared insights into Store Manager enablement at The Warehouse. Following on from this, Sefton Thesing from Theta presented ways of getting value through MicroStrategy Collaboration Services.

We also heard from Keith Napier from MicroStrategy who gave a glimpse of the latest features we can expect from MicroStrategy 2020. Pieter Coetzee from Theta led a discussion on health and safety analytics built on MicroStrategy as well as the benefits of using custom image maps to enhance dashboards. Pieter also provided an in-depth look at the benefits and architecture of Platform Analytics as a replacement monitoring tool for Enterprise Manager.

To wrap up the event, we learned about Xero’s customer segmentation solution thanks to Russell Bowden and then delved into some short use case snapshots from Ezibuy, University of Auckland and J A Russell.

As with previous years of hosting this event, it was a full house again. Plenty to catch up on and a prime opportunity to network with other MicroStrategy users, developers and experts across a range of industries in the New Zealand market. With plenty of exciting future updates to come, we’re already looking forward to next year’s event.

A big thank you to the University of Auckland for hosting us all and to those who assist with the conference organisation each year. If you had the opportunity to come along and have any feedback, please let us know and we will happily pass the message on. See you at the next conference.

We'd love your feed back

We will pass the message on, see you at the next conference!
